This documentary started life primarily as a way for me to better understand the Welsh culture. I spent so many years not knowing anything about it due to living in England and then America.
Over the course of several months I have begun my studies of the Welsh language and found it to be much more challenging than I first thought. However I found that by studying the language, culture and history of Wales, I was able to have a deeper appreciation of a culture that I belong to and yet had no knowledge of before this documentary.
I was also able to reconnect with a side of the family that I wasn’t as familiar with beforehand.
Hopefully this documentary can give people a look into the deep Welsh language and culture, and encourage them to explore it further. I also hope that it encourages people to explore their own history, as it’s likely far deeper and more interesting than they expect.
